PCs are considered nonstrategic assets by many organizations, and yet their acquisition cost and the cost of managing them throughout their life cycle remain very high. Alternative client architectures, such as server-based computing, provide the opportunity to reduce client computing total cost of ownership (TCO). This presentation compares TCO scenarios of PCs with different levels of management as well as different methods to give users access to applications. |
Key Issues:
|
- What should be part of a PC Total Cost of Ownership calculation?
- How much are your desktops and notebooks costing you and can you lower your PC TCO?
- What does the TCO of the main alternatives architectures compares to that of traditional PCs?
