Thomas J. BittmanThis will be the year of experimentation with cloud computing. The same technologies and techniques that will make cloud computing viable are making internal infrastructures more efficient and effective, turning them into “private clouds.” Many organizations will be managing both internal IT and managing “cloudsourcing.” We discuss the key trends in cloud computing, what’s real and what isn’t, and what data center managers need to know now.
Key Issues:
  • What is the road map for infrastructure and operations to become private clouds — and use external cloud computing services?
  • What are the architectures behind the major cloud providers today, and how will their capabilities evolve in the future?
  • What are best practices for leveraging cloud computing internally and externally in the near-term?
