Even as the hype around India's overall economic progress increases, there is also a 'whisper campaign' that is picking up around its ICT capability in general and its vaunted offshore IT Services industry specifically. Is the India story in IT Services winding down? Is it likely to go the way of Ireland, a past poster child of offshore services, and become a victim of its own success? WIll internal factors like the increased attrition levels, escalating salaries, infrastructure concerns etc. combine with external factors like the fears of recession, sub-prime crisis, strengthening currency etc. to reduce the attractiveness of the India model. Or is all this just noise that the Indian vendors can take within their stride and not just survive but continue to thrive? We address these issues in this debate.
