How do we get security "built in" to IT systems, networks and applications as much as possible, allowing us to focus additional security on quickly reacting to new threats and new business needs. To become both more effective and more efficient at protecting business data, security needs to be thought of as a feature of networks, servers, PCs and applications - letting information security budgets focus on dealing with emerging threats.

Key Issues:
  • What new technologies will emerge to reduce the level of expenditure required to meet security needs?
  • How can enterprises develop architectures and processes to raise security levels without raising budgets?
  • How can security be treated as a "quality attribute" for evaluating IT suppliers?
