| Virtual Track 1: Cost Optimization | MDM helps with “run the business”, as well as “grow the business” and “transform the business” strategies. Specifically MDM helps with cost optimization efforts that span mostly “run the business” but also “grow the business” efforts. IT costs are reduced through better use of data services; used to streamline and simplify how the information infrastructure is deployed. IT integration and redundant data management costs are reduced as point to point integrations are replaced with fewer hub-and-spoke integrations. Business costs are also reduced –sometimes far in excess of IT costs, in that direct material and indirect material costs can be streamlined: by achieving and sustaining single view of supplier and purchase-past, procurement processes can leverage greater purchase on fewer suppliers, giving more power to procurement executives in the business. | VT1 |
