 Carolyn is the Chairman of the Communications Management Association, CMA. She has been a CMA member since 1988 and was a Trustee for six years from 1999. During this time on the board she was responsible for PR, masterminded the name change and re-branding project, and held the post of Treasurer. She was first elected CMA Chairman in 2002 for a period of three years, standing down at the beginning of 2005 and returned to the role in January 2007. CMA is a national charity working in the Communications Industry being an association of professionals from the user community representing both the private and public sectors, and coming from small, medium, and large organisations. Carolyn’s career has spanned International Global Networking Management for a Trans-Atlantic Container shipping company, Independent Consultancy, being part of an SME start-up offering CRM analysis services, strategic management support working in a Corporate offshore call centre and external relationship activity for a number of UK clients. Carolyn is currently heading up the external relationships activity for TechCaliber Consulting, a leading provider of benchmarking and professional services for enterprise users of worldwide telecommunications services which sits well with her priorities. She represents CMA on the UK Trade and Industry ICT Strategy Advisory Group and the Parliamentary IT Committee, PITCOM, being an elected member of Council serving on its Programme and Communications Committees – helping to inform MPs to further their understanding of the ICT industry and its impact upon their constituents’ lives. Carolyn is also a director on the Board of Women in Telecommunications and Technology, WiTT a group founded in November 2001 by women executives from the communications and technology industries in the UK. to provide a forum to exchange ideas and share experiences. Throughout her working life Carolyn has been on the user side of the industry and her passions are high quality and fair customer service, value for money in all walks of life, great shoes and excellent dark chocolate.
