John P. RobertsThe economic downturn tightened budgets for IT security, pushing CIOs and Security Managers to reexamine the role of the security organization in supporting the enterprise in troubled times. In this keynote we will examine the CIO's perspective on risk and security, and how the security manager must operate to gain management's attention and support. This session looks at the overlying framework of governance, and suggests ways to justify security investments and demonstrate business value.
Key Issues:
  • What are effective strategies for obtaining and maintaining support for information security investments?
  • How should technologists communicate with management about information security and risk?
  • Reduced budgets can increase risk exposure. How can security leverage diminished funding and organization resources to combat risk expansion?
