Server virtualisation is rapidly becoming the default – most large enterprises have started deployments, and penetration doubles each year. This extends for non-x86 virtualised platforms as we see increasing crossover between the two virtual environments. But while virtualisation affects many aspects of the project portfolio, it is not a one size fits all approach. We examine the drivers, caveats, vendors and viable workloads that organisations should consider as they strive to stay in control of the virtualisation frenzy. |
Key Issues:
|
- How will the server virtualisation market evolve through 2012, and how should users select technologies?
- What workloads should (and should not) be virtualised and why?
- What are the best ways to navigate the server virtualisation trend effectively?
