Speaker: Garth Sundem Location: Maryland Ballroom A Session Type: Keynote Session

Garth Sundem's book Geek Logik applies math to seemingly unscientific challenges, such as calculating one's chances with that stranger across the bar, to optimizing the number of beers one should drink at the office holiday party, to deciding if you can still wear a Speedo without frightening small children. In his keynote, Garth will apply his math to YOUR problems. He will pick a few audience-submitted dilemmas and provide their owner with some mathematical “help” onstage (in a fun, tongue-in-cheek format). Attendees who submit the best problems will get a signed copy of Garth's new book, The Geeks' Guide to World Domination, released March 10.
This keynote will provide much needed comic relief, but while Garth tends to use his equations for the purpose of general levity, the same techniques can be applied to corporate performance metrics with real-world business decision-making implications. Come to laugh, and learn a few lessons in quantifying the unquantifiable.
