Deputy CTO, BEA Systems, Inc.
As Deputy CTO Theo focuses on researching technology trends and the impact they will have on BEA’s technology strategy. During his time at BEA he has been responsible for research on Social Computing, Web 2.0, SaaS, AJAX/RIA. In this role Theo also collaborates with peers within BEA and the industry to explore the intersection of ideas on topics such as SOA, Virtualization, Complex Event Processing and Services Fabric. Theo has more than 18 years experience in software development, web development, application integration and software architecture & design. He began his career working with mainframe systems, databases, and third & fourth generation programming languages. For the past 13 years he has focused almost exclusively on integration technologies & problems and possesses an in-depth understanding of integration, Services Oriented Architecture, XML and emerging technologies. Prior to joining BEA, Theo spearheaded Software AG’s SOA Competency Center and global SOA Practice in his role as Chief SOA Architect. He was responsible for developing their SOA methodology, best practices and architectures. He also served as the primary SOA expert for press and industry analysts for Software AG.
