Jeff Adkins is the Integration Architect for the State of Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation. His role includes SOA evangelism, defining integration architecture and determining the role of event driven architecture within the organization. His thought leadership and passion focuses on how to increase the level of technical abstraction at which businesses develop and use applications. The central idea to this concept is that technology’s purpose is not to manipulate data, but rather to enable processes that power businesses. Jeff is currently working on a book that illustrates how to bridge the chasm between business and technology by developing a vocabulary for enterprise architecture. His professional interests lie in complex event processing, business process development, pervasive computing, and service oriented architecture. In his leisure time, Jeff is an amateur film maker and enjoys studying innovation and patterns of thinking.
